Sph3r3's President asked to speak at Ohio's High Tech Crime Association annual conference.

Chicago, Illinois -- August, 24 2004 -- Matthew E. Luallen, the President and Principal Consultant of Sph3r3, LLC has been asked to speak on Open Source security tools at the OHTCA annual meeting to be held in Cleveland, Ohio on November 4, 2004.  The presentation will discuss a variety of available toolsets to successful penetrate a system as well as provide for security in small to enterprise environments.  The open source community continues to provide an amazing breadth of utilities that generally provide the same level or in the cases substantial improvements over their commercial counterparts.  It is not to say that commercial products do not have their place; however in some occasions a viable choice may be open source.  This session will cover the specifics and how they may be implemented on a number of choices, including but not limited to: SNARE, SNORT, SmokePING, CACTI, Nagios, IPERF, NetFlow and several others.
